problems associated with snoring
Currently looking at getting a puppy…please offer advise!?

I have a 1.5 year old lab and she is completely spoiled and such a great addition to our family. I would like to get a friend for her and have been doing research on the following breeds and have added my thoughts I have associated with my questions:
1) another lab – lots of shedding, large, expense in food
2) Boston terrier – hyper, snores, easy to train?
3) pug – hyper and shedding, health problems due to short face
4) cocker spaniel – requires grooming (expense), snippy at children?
5) cav. king charles spaniel – hard to locate, expensive

In your opinion, can you help point me in a direction? other recommendations? experience?

Thanks so much!

First, I think it’s absolutely wonderful that you’ve done the research BEFORE getting the new pup!

I think whatever breed you go with is going to be based on your personal preference. I’d personally think 2 labs would be a lot of fun, and they’d make perfect play buddies if you have the space for the 2.

I was a dog walker and now work at a dog daycare, and in my personal experience, my personal favorites off your list are the pug and the cav. spaniel. I just haven’t met any of the other breeds that had a great deal of personality.

If you haven’t looked into it yet, perhaps you can look into adopting too. Especially if you decide to go with a lab since they’re so common in rescues – a lot of shelters and rescues have lab and retriever pups available right now!
